20 year old generators required replacing at Exchange House and therefore the renewal of backup generator capacity was required.

It was decided that building’s infrastructure needed more resilience and therefore the generating capacity in the building needed to be improved, upgraded and replaced.  However, the renewal of backup generators at Exchange House required immense thought and precision!

There was only one way to get the new generators in which was to remove the side of the building at the mezzanine level 2; this was an immense challenge!

Each old generator had to be removed individually and the new one installed using a crane and a scaffold landing platform.  On top of this standby power needed maintaining to the site whilst the works were carried out.

Exchange House is a 24hr building with 3 trading floors and houses one of the largest international law firms in the World.
